He has created a style of playing that has influenced three generations of piano players and will continue to be the yardstick by which great Blues pianists are measured.

Honeyboy Edwards is one of the most sought-after Bluesmen in the world for his eyewitness accounts of Blues history as it happened. Honeyboy, who remembers playing in Deep Ellum near downtown Dallas in the 1930’s recounts the death of legendary Bluesman Robert Johnson who also recorded in Dallas.

Honeyboy Edwards is one of the most sought-after Bluesmen in the world for his eyewitness accounts of Blues history as it happened. If you visualize an image of what a Bluesman would look or sound like, playing on street corners in the early part of the last century in rural Mississippi, that image is embodied in David Honeyboy Edwards.

Four years ago The Blue Shoe Project set out on a mission to expose living legends of the Blues and those influenced by this uniquely American art form to students. Over 30,000 students have already experienced their Blues education programs and on November 7, 2008 Honeyboy will tell his story to 4,000 students of the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
